Anna Patty
Communications Strategist
Doer of Good

My purpose is to help you share your mission and grow your impact. I would love the opportunity to serve as your in-house or contract Communications Strategist.

Be The Good Consulting was grown out of a desire to reimagine the important work of communications, fundraising strategy and public relations. Let’s shift the narrative so that you can focus on your mission and do good for yourself, your people, and the greater community.

My Background

I have two decades of experience in developing and implementing complex communication strategies through storytelling. Without question, I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals. Known for my attention to detail, I promise to leave no stone unturned in helping you to grow your impact.

Frequently one to wear many hats, I can easily shuffle from event planning to media relations to data analysis and communications strategy. Never one to back down from a challenge, I have continually worked to expand my skill set. I believe it is important to take ownership in each project to ensure its success. I believe in finding the positive in every situation and am an eternal optimist.

In taking on a new project, it all begins with a story to tell. I utilize my training and experience to deep dive into the challenge presented to explore all sides to each story. This involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to gain all perspectives before providing recommendations.

My background includes several years working in-house and as a consultant within the nonprofit and mental health sectors. In addition, I’m a proud “data geek” and have presented several times at Blackbaud’s BBCON, a leading conference for nonprofit fundraising professionals. This combination of creative and analytical approaches often results in positive and cost-effective outcomes.

Education & Achievements

I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa with degrees in Journalism and Spanish. Often referred to as a “data geek,” I regularly lean into data analysis to generate sustainable results. I have spoken several times at BBCON, the leading conference for nonprofit fundraising data experts. In 2018, I was honored to be receive the Corridor Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award.

Community & Giving Back

I believe in giving back to the community is something everyone should do in their own way. Over the years, I have served as vice president of the Family Promise of Linn County Board of Directors, member of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Board of Directors and board member and chair of the Women’s Equality Coalition of Linn CountyI currently volunteer in the Cedar Rapids Community School District in support of its performing arts programs and as a member of the district’s School Improvement Advisory CommitteePathways Parent Advisory Committee, and Future Ready Task Force

My husband and I reside in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with our four musical children. Our weekends are often spent at marching band and show choir competitions or cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeyes.
